What a weekend!

I flew out to the market early Saturday morning to grab some salad ingredients to bring to her husband Roy's house after Connie's Memorial Service. I noticed the flag was flying half staff in front of Kroger and wondered why. Until I got home and saw that Teddy was being buried on Saturday as well. And it was supposed to be Michael Jackson's funeral as well. Originally and intially after he died anyway. Things come in threes. Again and again and again.

The tributes to Connie were sterling as were the ones for Teddy. Especially by his son. No matter what else you think about him, he did take over as patriarch of that family of a gajillion kids and tried his best to fill their own father's shoes. And I have trouble raising one?!?!?

I was once again awed and impressed by the incredible Anderson Cooper as well. Last week he weighed in on Heidi's (of Spidey 'fame') performance at the Miss Universe contest and he was, as usual, right on, hysterical and relevant. The additions of his insights on CNN's full coverage the Kennedy funeral were touching and immediate. I love him. Who doesn't? Is he gay? I can't tell. And, honestly, I'd still marry him. No matter.

Then, last night I was looking forward to watching the Daytime Emmys. They were sort of weird though. ALOT (and I mean ALOT!) of the nominess weren't there. I was wondering why. And then I was wondering why it seemed like that award show where the winners actually know who they are before hand so they are the only ones who show? The People's Choice maybe? I can't remember. But, it just seemed like there was something slightly odd about last night's production. Although I LOVED Betty White giving the farewell speech for this last season of Guiding Light. That show's been around FOREVER. And, well, Kim Zimmer (Reva) is a pretty good friend to my good friend Ava, so, I was glad to see that they got some sort of recognition for a thousand and four years on the air.

But the BEST, BEST, BEST part of the show was that my good friend, mentor, stellar example of a human being, JOY BEHAR, won as part of the group who host THE VIEW. They won BEST TALK SHOW HOST(S) and they won over names like Ellen DeGeneres and other powerhouses of the industry like Reeeeeege. (Truth be told though someone should award him something one of these days..the guy's in his seventies and deserves to be recognized for all his contributions!)

But back to Joy! So, she wasn't there. And, so, this morning I sent her a congratulatory email, expecting that she would be overwhelmed and thrilled and basking in her win. But I should know better because Joy is a class act and a real broad's broad. She emailed back something pithy, witty and totally lovely within just a few seconds. Because that's who SHE is. I tell you truly, she is such a beacon for me and, I think, for women everywhere that I am honored to know her and over the moon at this well deserved accolade.

Then, well, once Joy won, I was wide awake and had to go over and see what was happening on reality central. I checked out the Kardashian sister's South Beach show. Didn't that younger one get arrested for drinking once upon a time. Couldn't tell from this show that she had ANY concerns about alcohol at all. We should go out. The show's weird though. Those girls are weird actually. My sister and I are really, really close but if she ever pulled my dress up and my underwear down and then slapped my fat, naked ass on camera....well....it just would NEVER happen.

Bored with their antics I flipped over to the other reality station and saw another daytimer with his own television show now. Remember Antonio Sabato? I think he was on General Hospital when I was in second grade or something? Anyway, he's on a show to find the love of his life (or just another paycheck as is evidenced by his clear disdain for most of the wannabes there) but...and here's where I was totally lost...it appears his first (yes, I did say first) wife is in the mix vying for his affections and attentions. And she's nuts. But he can't seem to get enough of her telling him how much she loves him. Didn't cotton to this show either.

So decided instead to just try to think about what I would post today that would have ANYTHING at all to do with this weekend's energies or even the ones that are swirling today. And then I couldn't stop thinking about how kind of crazy this next month of September is going to be. There are many prophecies about what might happen this month, but, the most overriding and broad based opinion of anyone who has anything to do with monthly astrology is that there will be some breakdown of the old or the status quo before this month is through. It looks like that could happen both personally and either nationally or even globally. It might even evoke or elicit a little fear ...

IF WE WEREN'T SO EMPOWERED!

So, let's embrace that attitude WHOLLY during September. Let's look at someone like Joy, a woman who has followed her dreams and her passions to the pinnacle of success (if you don't know her backstory, you should. A NYC teacher who then went on to become a receptionist at GMA before heading out on her own to both raise her child and her profile as a stand up comedian....all the while not a spring chicken, you know?) She's a total inspiration and has learned to go with the punches.

I suspect we might have to hit the ropes a few times ourselves in the weeks to come. Hey, I wish I could say something purely Pollyanna and different, but, it is what it is.

So, let's arm ourselves with the best, most effective armour we can find:

AFFIRMATION FROM FLORENCE!!!

That's right....write this down and put it everywhere that you can see it. You know the drill...the bathroom mirror, the computer screen, the front of the fridge, over the kitchen sink. Say it, say it, say it. And then say it some more. Commit to saying this both silently and aloud at least a few hundred times a day. Make it a habit and then it will make you impervious.

And happy.

And in the flow.

And one of the unscathed.

Because that's our mission. To land on our feet no matter what the energies hold.

With Manolos on.

"I expect the unexpected. MY GLORIOUS GOOD NOW COMES TO PASS."

That last part? OCTOBER. Count on it. For now, just say this. As much as possible. Put yourself in the proverbial driver's seat so that no matter what happens, it's glorious and it's good.

Ahh...happy Monday kids!

I'm pretty sure that I've posted this 'recipe' before in this same spot, but, because of the vibe today and because the energies promise healing, unity, harmony, sweetness, and mostly, kind words...well, I'm making an executive decision to post it again for our Magically Delicious Friday endeavor.

Look, here's what I know.....Mercury the Messenger, the planet that governs and controls all things communication is SEXtiling sizzling, sensuous Venus, the planetary powerhouse who watches over all things LOVE and money. And good hair days too. (Thanks for yesterday Venus, my coif was crazy cool!) Anyway, when Mercury and Venus hook up like they are today the result is almost always the big O, as in OMG, this is the softest bestest day ever. Kind words are the order of the day and they will heal your heart. Period.

Okay, so if you're reading that last part and going...grumble, grumble, growl, growl, I'll never get so and so to ever say anything nice to me especially since/because..(fill in your blank here)....well, then, today's mother's milk (literally) is just what the Love Doctor ordered!

KIND WORDS WILL HEAL YOUR HEART TODAY. And I, for one, couldn't be happier for you! YOU deserve!

ALL that said, this isn't a 'traditional' recipe where I can give ingredients and measurements and a cup of this a half stick of that. It's more a go with your gut sort of thing that I KNOW FROM CLIENT EXPERIENCE really does make them say the sweetest things!

The recipe calls for saffron which comes from the flower petals of the crocus plant and is probably one of the most expensive spices in the world. Put your money where your mouth is kids...it's worth it! It also uses almonds, w sweet nut that grows in many different parts of the world and that is used, well, sweetly, when baked or enjoyed in sweet treats and baked goods. And, now, without further frittering:

Mix almonds and saffron together and then boil this mixture in whole milk. Be careful not to burn the boil. The Eastern belief is that once these two are paired together (like Mercury and Venus) and the heat is on, well, whoever drinks this infused brew will think sweet thoughts and say sweeter words. The promise says that they will forget their anger and all of their problems.

Now, when I see energies that are hovering like the ones outside today and then I KNOW that there's a true brew that will bring those energies to bear, well, what more empowered life can anyone of us HOPE for?

Have a wonderful weekend. Stay empowered and think sweet thoughts. It's all coming together now!

So, remember a couple of days ago how I was talking about all the niggling little things that were happening around her to muck up my Feng Shui and how I just sort of sat back all summer and turned a blind eye until the complete computer meltdown forced me to face the Feng?

Welllll, if you remember too, I also said that as soon as I starting proactively addressing the leaks, the burnt out bulbs, the identity fraud and then did something empowering to address this agenda, well, it sort of got worse before it got better? But I knew then, and am here to report in now, that as soon as I took my big blonde head out of the sand that there was probably something truly well behind it all?
And, tick tock, just like clockwork, the energies started showing their true (and positive!) colors today.

But, first, before I share what's hot off the press, let me just tell how cool you ALL are. I really did/do appreciate all the emails that you sent telling me your own computer nightmare stories and how you've come back stronger! That's what it's all about kids. Take the freakin obstable and turn it into an opportunity. I don't think we have to go the whole Steel Magnolia "what doesn't kill us makes us stronger" route, but, certainly, if we always try to remember that it's WHATS BEHIND THE CHALLENGE that will make our dreams come true if we but believe and persist, persist and believe. I promise it's Universal LAW!

So, thanks everyone. All your caring and advice made me feel like the luckiest girl in the whole big wide world...and, considering what I know about luck, that's sayin' ALOT!

Okay, now, back to who phoned me yesterday. I just picked up my phone messages from yesterday and am listening and taking notes/writing down numbers I need when a message comes up that starts out just like this:

"Hi Ellen. This is John Edward. The psychic medium," (as opposed I guess to a certain philandering politico from a state veryclose to where I live....and, before you write, I know the spelling is different but when I went to get the image I used of John here today and put HIS name into the search engine of the place where I pilfer my pictures from, photos of that certain someone also came up??)

Anyway, Johnny (I can call him that now because he's about to be my new bff)left a message that he wanted to chat with me about some of the predictive and empowering methods I employ to get all those ole self-empowering messages out into the world.

Wha?????

John Edward, psychic medium extraordinaire wants to chat woo woo with Blondie? Hmmm. Exciting. See, here's the thing. I think he's the real deal. I can't say that about ALOT of people I meet inside the confines of the work that I/we do, but, even though I've never met him, MY intuition says that he is what he says he is. I've watched his shows and read some of his stuff, and, well, I like him and believe him. And that's enough for me.

So he leaves me a message and a number and a person to call back. And so I did. And I just hung the line. And that's all I can say at the moment, but, I think there might be the start of something big in the offing here. We'll see about that. But now back to this:

I didn't cave to the negative. I pushed forward. Begrudgingly, sometimes angrily and always with the language of a sailor turned truckdriver, but, I pressed on. I KNEW that there was something big behind the bullshit. I knew it because it's the way of the Universe.

Always, always, always...whenever you face obstacle and adversity, think about how to get under, above, around or right through it. Don't let it EVER stop you from going where you want to go, doing what you want to do or feeling how you want to feel. EVER!

And, when you think you can't go a minute longer, then clear your Chi with a bath that I first thought was only a Feng Shui cure but, over the years, have come to find some version of this same bath in many, many of the cultures and traditions that I study.

Take seven stems of seven flowers. They can be all the same, like seven daisies or seven roses or they can be any combo thereof. There needs to be seven though. And no thorns on any of them! Now, fill the tub with water and add two cups of Epsom salts. Then float the seven stems in the water for twenty minutes before you get in. After that period go ahead and reheat the water and get in and soak. Think only uplifting, positive thoughts for this twenty minutes. Then, right as you are ready to get out, visualize that all and anything causing you any moment of discomfort gathers in a big black ball from every cell in your body and have that ball centered just below your belly button in the place where your essence resides. Then, when you think you've gathered every last bit if bs, blow that ball out of your mouth with one big breath and watch it with your mind's eye ascend into the heavens where the light of the sun will purify it before returning bright white light right back to you.

Ahhhhh, aren't you feeling better already.

And ready to go back out and fight the good fight?

Good.

I'm right behind you.

As soon as Johnny and I have a little chat with my parents on the other side.

I'll tell them how great you all have been too!

BTW, I did my second stint with FOX 43 this morning at o dark hundred and we talked about back to school if anyone wants to go ahead get that skinny. We do love our Cheryl Tan though! She's really great! And..

SNEAK PEEK FOR MAGICALLY DELICIOUS FRIDAY...tomorrow is a really swell and sweet day filled with kind words and healing. I'll be posting a "recipe" (wink) that will get them eating out of your hands and whispering sweet sweet sumptin's in your ear! As Johnny and Cheryl and I all say in our biz...stay tuned (that's television talk!)

See you here then! Be empowered until!

Oh I don't even know what to say to all of you who weighed in with your well wishes and GREAT advice about my recent computer hassle! I appreciate ALL of you and am trying best to get back to you each individually but am still ironing out a couple/few glitches (witness why I wasn't able to post yesterday) but I am so very grateful, more than any honored, touched and humbling words that I could ever ever express!

THANK YOU!

And, so, today I shall give back by offering the secret-est of Shui from the vaults and archives. Not that I'm not always racking the blonde for the best tips and techniques I can offer, but, sometimes...just sometimes there is some Shui that I've forgotten about or some intention on my part to bring you THE most fabulous stuff I can think of. This next tip falls under THAT category!

But, first, MORE condolences, sympathy and prayers to the Kennedys on the passing of Ted. Coming right on the heels of mourning Eunice, this news, albeit not shocking in least, is still tragic and deserves our sympathetic thoughts and prayers. As many of you who have read my book know, my grandparents were all off the boat from Ireland and, well, I grew up with portraits of Pope John the 23rd AND Pope John Kennedy hanging around our living room taking up real estate next to the oils of all the kids. So, watching this dynasty disband due to disease and age and the marching on of time is bittersweet. I pray for all involved and send only love.

Okay, now speaking of sending love.....to you guys....you should go ahead and send this tip to you loved ones and friends and anyone who can stand to use some really fast-acting and great Shui:

DRAGON ENERGY!!!

According to this philosophy the dragon lives in the waters of both the earth and the sky and has teh power to send wealth...immediately. Period. The dragon brings money (especially where banking, trading stocks etc or real estate is concerned, but, truly, he's an equal OPPORTUNITY Santa Claws!)

Your dragon can be a statue or an image. If you do use a picture of some sort though try to frame it in gold (even if that means you color in a gold border around the image.)

Now put this image or, preferably statue (ANY and ALL oriental stores sell small dragon statues..I should know since I gift them often to my own friends and loved ones) by the kitchen sink. Tge dragon supports the water (wealth) element so should also be facing the water as well. If you decide to put the dragon by a sink just make sure it's not a bathroom or laundry room one! In the kitchen, the room of abundance, the dragon does remarkably well!

If you are currently in a living space that doesn't allow you to place the dragon near a sink then just go ahead and place him somewhere where he can FACE NORTH as this is the compass direction associated with the water element. This advice is activated when there is no body of water nearby that he can face or, as previously stated, when there is no faucet. You can also position your dragon in your fountain if that fountain is placed in the WEALTH area. Forget the Barbarians at the Gate, the dragon at the sink will bring you scads and oodles of opportunities for good fortune and wealth and great, great luck!

Good fortune and prosperity for a thousand years! It's sooooo YOUR turn!
