Your Stars:
All work and no play makes you, well, an Aries alright. It also makes the start of this new year not much different from all the other ones you’ve out performed in, but, and you have to believe me here, there will be some big heat bringing your ‘Q’ factor to a rapid boil as the next few months unfold. Just as long you just use the ‘F’ word as much as possible during these initial days of 2009. No, not that one, the other ‘F’ word; yes, you are on FIRE, but to gain all the attention the stars have in store for you, you’ll need to FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS! The most important thing to remember all during January is that this New Year you must become a Resolutionary soldier and do everything possible to effectively address all those projects that you back-burner’d pre-holidays post haste. See, inside one of those unfinished projects lies the seed of some really spectacular success with wide recognition, reward and money all attached. Your career is off the hook this month thanks to the Sun and Mars (your ruling planet) both jockeying for a key position in your 10th House of Fame. And, bonus, those two career pleasing planets stay right there all month long. Resolve to tie up all those old loose ends beginning on the very first day of the month and then make sure that you are making good headway on that goal by the time the Full Moon rises on the 10th. This moon will be hanging in your 4th House of Home and Family and will definitely exert an influence that will cause you to want to spend more time with both. You can actually enjoy a little break that weekend while bringing some much needed balance back into the fold. But, rest assured, you’ll be back fighting on the front lines again by the 21st so embrace those nurturing energies that enter mid-month. January 21st might find you a little more impatient than usual waiting and wanting to see where all this hard work is going to get you, but, you can go ahead and leave the crystal ball stuff to me. You just keep nose to the grindstone and thoughts to yourself. Seriously, whatever you are working on during this month, do it alone. Word to the wise, mum’s that word. You sure will be ready for the Aquarius New Moon eclipse on the 26th, an eclipse that conjuncts generous gift-giver Jupiter. This super stellar event adds yet another ‘F’ word to your month, FORTUNE! Expect all that and more as the first month of this new year comes to a close. You are off to a running and tremendous start. Soon enough the load will lighten so keep your eye on the proverbial prize because it’s just around the proverbial corner.

Your Shui:
Mum’s the word for you this month in many more ways than you might think. First off it is tremendously important, especially all during the third week of January that you operate alone and fly solo as far as any office politics or projects are concerned. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Actually, as much as is possible, don’t say anything. And don’t get too impatient to see results and rewards for all the hard work you’re doing. There are forces actually working for you behind the scenes so just remember that patience is a virtue and that all good things come to those who wait, and in this case, that definitely means you. Find a yellow chrysanthemum and put it in your ‘Fame’ area. Leave it there for at least 27 days. If you cannot find the physical flowers then plant a picture of same in this specific space. Out of all the trees and flowers in the world, the chrysanthemum was elevated by Eastern scholars of old to the rank of one of “the four noblest” flowers in the world or one of “the four exemplary ones.” (The other three are the plum, the orchid and bamboo.) All of these symbolize nobility and prestige while bringing success to differing agendas. But the mum brings reward and recognition on the professional level along with some scholarship, laughter and happiness to the home. Yeesh, the Japanese Emperor even has a mum on his emblem! Put this plant or some symbol of same in the back center of your house and then get out your shades because your immediate future is very, VERY bright!

Your Stars:
If I were Dr.Suess I would begin describing your month and even your whole year ahead with some little ditty like this: Oh time to get ready, the day’s finally here, that will now help to make the last seven years, whoomph, disappear. You’ve worked and boondoggled, you’ve cried and exclaimed but now is the time to say NEVER AGAIN! That’s right, your ship’s about to come in and for some of you I could add that it’s starting to sail once again since you’ve been to that place called abundance before but couldn’t stay there, no not anymore. For some though this will be the first time ever that life gets so sweet so for you I will add you’re in for a treat! Why all this excitement and these darn silly rhymes? Like I said, I’m happy to say it’s YOUR time! Optimism and enthusiasm, the real kind, not the fake kind that you’ve had to muster so much of the last seven years, will finally be back to stay when that gift giving and generous do-gooder, Jupiter, enters your home sign on January 5. In fact Jupiter claims squatters’s rights here and plans to perch and create all sorts of fortune, luck, options and opportunities for you the whole of this next New Year. You are not only able to focus you are invited and excited to expansively visualize. This fortune filled planet lighting up your whole world for this whole year will bring out the best in you, the best in other people all around you and all the best the world has to offer you. WOW! And WHEW! The only drawback on the drawing board this month will be when Mercury turns retrograde on the 11th, the day after a somewhat sensitive Full Moon. This combo might make for some misfires and misconnects so watch your words and what you say. Yes, watch those two days and then wait once again, for the end of the month gets the big ball rolling just when, Jupiter winks at the New Moon and then the 26th will be tops on the scale from 1 to 10. Okay, okay, enough of the musical Seussical stuff because the last day of this month, well, um, not so much. Seriously even though you will feel as if someone breathed new life into you as January begins, the two last days of the month might make you feel a bit more winded. Look, the best I can say is that this year begins an entirely new and auspicious cycle for you and even though there will be hanging threads connecting you to years past, they are about to get snipped allowing all those old, ahem, educational energies to get all sewn up. I promise, you are really going to find that all that heartache, all that blood and sweat and tears was all preparing you for this and the next few years to come. As good as it gets is all I can say, enjoy the whole year, taking it day by day. One foot front of other, walk slow and walk tall, this year ends the BS, oh yes, ends it all! HAPPY NEW YEAR Aquarius!

Your Shui:
If there were ever a time, ever a year, ever a month to create a Treasure Map, well, this is it! Using any piece of poster board, large or small, cover the ENTIRE space (front and back if desired) with pictures (from magazines and newspapers), words and symbols representing your hopes and wishes and dreams for the future. Put all appropriate symbols in the same places as the corresponding energies are placed on the tic, tac, toe style Bagua map, saving the biggest goals and intentions for the center. In fact and also in the center of this vision board you should also put a picture of YOU that You love. Right smack in the middle. Use verbal affirmations as you are creating this board in order to firm up these visual ones. You might just keep repeating, “I NOW express the Divine Idea in my mind, body and affairs” (thank you Florence Shinn) as you paste the picture into place. Keep this map at your bedside and each night, for this whole year, before you go to sleep look at it and go off to sleep grateful that these energies are all already on their way to you. When you awake each morning, look at this map and give gratitude and grace for this same exciting energy and for all the rewarding results that might not be there and visible yet but are well on their way. At the end of this year I’ll just bet that at least 60% of your dreams have come true. Yes, that’s what I say, it’s my promise to you. I’m happy for you Aquarius, you’ve had a rough time. It’s all over. You’ve come home to happy. Welcome back.

Your Stars:
The honeymoon’s not over yet but has, in fact, only just begun. Remember that fact when the latter part of January might cause you to think hard about divorcing yourself from a potentially painful situation. That said, this month begins nicely with lovey dovey Venus cuddling up in your 9th House of Imagination and Faraway Places on the 3rd causing some wander and some lust to make for some really cool days and even hotter nights. Enthusiastic energies escalate and life only gets sweeter when sugar daddy Jupiter decides to spend big time in your 8th House of Other People’s Money, where that powerful planet promises to stay all lucky money 2009 long. Now, even though having Jupiter in ANY money house usually blows big bucks winds and change into a newly boosted bank account, it won’t quite have that exact same effect for you this month if Mercury has a say. See Mercury is set to slide retrograde in that same 8th House of Resources on the 11th of the month, tempering the giant gains that can be garnered by that stellar aforementioned influence and impact. That said, you will see this Jupiter jump and put you in a nice financial position as this New Year progresses so, not to worry. The Full Moon rising at that same time though might see you feeling a bit more extended and way more emotional than usual. Look, some say that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again all the while expecting a different result or outcome. “Déjà vu all over again,” as Yogi once said. Unfortunately, this Full Moon will likely leave you feeling a bit more vulnerable and a lot less ‘yabba, dabba do” as you perceive or possibly feel slighted or wronged by someone you believed in and trusted. Own your power by choosing how you will respond to this situation. Pick your battles and your words very carefully now as how you react to any potential conflict or challenge could potentially color a good part of the first half of this year. It doesn’t help that the New Moon on the 26th appears to come in and complicate any kind of contentious misunderstanding while the Solar Eclipse happening at same time hurries over to really heat things up. Temper, temper your reactions, choose the high road and then take it to get out of town for a few days. With Venus connecting with Uranus, Mars and Saturn in the last few weeks, you’ll have plenty of planets to keep you company as you go along your way. This particular alignment bodes well for business or romantic get-aways so get ready and get gone. Not only will a break help you to distance yourself from the brew-ha-ha at home but you might just meet someone who will definitely take your mind off those possibly messy matters. You will, without question, overcome adversity and any insecurities by taking some serious and positive actions steps to address any angst and anger. And, I promise, no matter how fragile you feel now, you are only a few months away from the putting on the proverbial glass slipper. Don’t let anyone shatter your dreams, there are many MANY more where those other ones came from and with Jupiter in Aquarius in your house of money all year long you won’t ever have to worry about paying your dues. Avoid extreme reactions especially at the end of the month and you will find that soon enough terse and tears will be past tense.

Your Shui:
Oriental medicine teaches us that there are seven emotional factors that will, if activated, weaken or unbalance certain organs in our bodies. These seven sins are anger, fear, fright, sadness, grieving, pensiveness and, go figure, joy. In this case and in this month you will need to rein in your anger, ride roughshod over your fear and still your pensive sadness and grief over something that will ultimately not mean as much once some water flows under the bridge, some time marches on and the ego quiets down. I’m not saying to suppress any of these emotions since that will do nothing but internally transform into more unmitigated imbalance. But I am suggesting that you might just want to make choices based on the reality of the situation and not just on how hurt your feelings are. Once done, then do this little exercise of letting go that will strengthen all of your emotional muscles: Place a small piece of charcoal on a little glass plate and light it. It will “cough” at you for a bit before it catches. Wait until the whole piece has turned gray before sprinkling it with a couple of granules of frankincense. Allow this to create a smoke signal in your room that will help to put out the fire of your rage. As the smoke swirls in your space, walk back and forth through it allowing it to cleanse all negative emotions from you’re your body, mind and spirit. In a pinch you can do the same thing with a stick or two of same smelling incense. Visualize your liver smiling a big, broad smile at your whenever possible and before you know it, your mouth will be doing the same.

Your Stars:
With super generous and big ole bountiful Sugar Daddy Jupiter bouncing into your 2nd House of Income on January 5 and then sitting his expansive self there for the whole rest of this year you’ll most likely want to sharpen your pruning shears since it might just seem that money, for you anyway, does indeed grow on trees. You should start to see some green even begin blowing your way early this abundant month although it conceivably could take until end February until that bird gets the worm or you get cash in hand. Or something like that. Just trust me when I tell you that this bountiful planet has some big bank account boosting power and is positively eager to share all same with you. You’ll also get another perk in this peach of a month as assertive and aggressive Mars comes to visit in the front days helping you to not only get back, on track that is, but also to persist and perfect a particular project that has been capturing all your attention of late. Holding you hostage even. Believe me, having Mars circling around and essentially babysitting your sign now will save you a whole world of struggle later on when loose ends and impulsive actions could have created calamity. Never fear though as people in high places are drawn to you at the January 10 Full Moon and it seems like the whole world wants you to pencil them in. This Full Moon actually rises inside your 7th House of Partnerships and erases previously mentioned worries, so, instead look for some illuminating, interesting and quite possibly unexpected but welcome news to lighten these days as that moon brightens those nights. If January now sounds maybe a little too good to be true than I haven’t done enough to warn you about party pooper Saturn setting up to oppose Uranus in early February but bringing a dampening to your desires around January 22. During the whole of this month the urge will be towards drive and determination and all outside energies, for the most part, will be entirely and enthusiastically supportive. But, that “for the most part” happens this third week when an internal prodding towards expanding your conception can pull you away from the much more conservative approach you should be taking. Temper, temper and then temper your behavior some more. Otherwise you run a strong risk of burning out whereas, truly, right now, you should be gearing up and getting ready to blast off. The erratic New Moon on the 26th jumps right in next to Jupiter in your 2nd House of Money so this month should go out very similarly to the same way it started; making a whole lot of cents to you!

Your Shui:
You might think that I would offer some sort of wealth enhancing cure for you this month, but, I am so confident that Jupiter setting up home in your 2nd House will so capably address any outstanding monetary issues that I’m not going there. Instead, I think I will focus your energies on that one overriding project, whether that be at home or at work, that has been keeping you up at nights and consuming most of every day. You need to give yourself a break if you want to allow fresh and healthy Chi or energy to compliment your constancy as well as to refill that well that everyone around you come to dig from whenever they get a chance. Refuel YOU! Refill YOU! Try this wonderful exercise that works to balance and distribute vital nourishing and nurturing energies throughout your whole body: Sit comfortably in a chair and begin to focus on your breathing in and out. Try to relax. Visualize a glowing ball of bright white light (about the size of a tennis ball) moving up from the base of your spine to the base of your neck. This white light sort of flows up your spine like liquid health. When this ball of light reaches the first vertebra of your neck, move it out and over the right shoulder. Now the light will travel back down to the coccyx but this time along the outer body, almost created an illuminated wing down that same side of your back. Repeat on the left side starting with a new ball of light. Once you have a concrete image of your wings keep the light spinning around them until they feel as real as they are. Now, my friend, you are ready to take flight to infinity and, well, beyond!
